Research Group Description

Genetics and Molecular Biotechnology (GBM) Research group focusing its research activities into three levels:

  1. Basic research: Gene isolation and characterization, Molecular marker characterization, Multi Omics (Genomics, Transcriptomics & Proteomics), Molecular Biodiversity, Classical & Molecular Breeding and Integrated Bioinformatics.
  2. Technology platform development: Control of gene expression, Molecular Assisted Breeding, Molecular Screening, Synthetic Biology and Omics big data.
  3. Research application: Agriculture, Health and Environmental industries application.

The GBM research group has been established since 2006 and belong to the School of Life Sciences and Technology, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia. In 2019, the group has nine staff members and many students (PhD, Master degree and Bachelor degree program).  Several studies in collaborations with A-B-G-C institutions have been performed and strengthen the group track records. Currently, the group have several registered and granted patents for industry application. Some of group members have also awarded with both national and international awards for their achievements in research.
